The Wells Co. SWCD "Land Improvement Project" provides a maximum of 50% cost-share for landowners that install conservation practices on their land.  Practices could include erosion control structures, wetland development, pasture renovation or establishment, cover crops, planting warm season grasses or trees, timber stand improvement, composting, or a variety of other conservation activities.

Landowners are required to submit a written request for review by the SWCD Supervisors.  Contact the SWCD office for an application form.

The Wells Co. SWCD also assists the Natural Resource Conservation Service and Farm Service Agency with the installation of projects that are funded by federal cost-share programs, such as: CRP, EQIP, CSP, etc.
